Charles Dwight Cathcart, 63, of 2424 Terrace Way, died Monday at his home
Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Eugene Childs and Louise DuBose Dwight Cathcart.
Mr. Cathcart was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in civil engineering. He was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. The Cotillion, and a member of Trinity Cathedral.
During World War II, he served as a lieutenant in the Navy with the Naval Aviation Ordinance.
At the time of his death, he was associated with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Beaufort.
Surviving is his widow, Mrs. Sallie Coles Heyward Cathcart, a daughter, Mrs. Coles Jackson of Cheraw, two sons, Dr. Charles D. ?Cathcart Jr. of Bangor, Maine and Edmund Heyward Cathcart of Columbia, a sister, Mrs. Henry L. Taylor of Columbia, and a brother, Eugene Childs Cathcart of Kingsport, Tenn.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Thursday in Trinity Cathedral, conducted by the Rev. Canon Manney C. Reid. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Henry L. Taylor Jr., Albert R. Jr. and Carol Heyward, Edmund H. Hardy, Allen, Edmund H. and Gus Robinson and Edward W. Mullins.
