Owen Seibert Stinson, 72, of Three Springs R. D. 2, died Monday, July 7, 1980, at 2:15 p.m. in his home in Cromwell Township. He had been in failing health for one year.

Born Feb. 1, 1908, in Six Mile Run, he was the son of William P. and Myrtle (Foor) Stinson. On March 17, 1931 he was united in marriage with Pearl Painter of Cromwell Township by the Rev. DuVall, in Bedford.

He is survived by his wife, of Three Springs R. D. 2; a son, Duane Stinson of Waynesboro; a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Peggy Ann) Walker of Three Springs; a brother, Brint Stinson of James Creek; and four grandchildren.

Four brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Stinson was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church, Orbisonia R.D. Employed for 32 years with the Rockhill Coal Company, he later retired from the Pa. Department of Forests and Waters. He was a forest fire warden for several years. A well - known musician, he was a member of the United Mine Workers' Union and the "National Rifle Association.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, in the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia, with the Rev. Theodore E. Gould officiating. Interment will be in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery, Broad Top City. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the hour of services.
