Joyce Ellison, 74, of Fort Pierre, SD, formerly of Council Bluffs, IA, died June 7, 2009 at Golden Living Center in Pierre, South Dakota. Visitation will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, June, 11, 2009 at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home of Council Bluffs, IA. Prayer Service will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, June, 11, 2009 at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home of Council Bluffs, IA with interment to follow at Oakgrove Cemetery in Missouri Valley, IA.

Joyce Marie Ellison was born December 1, 1934 at home in Missouri Valley, IA to John P. and Anna (Flynn) Allmon. She was raised and schooled in Missouri Valley. She married Jimmie Ray Beckner and to this union four children were born: Darcy McClelland, Fort Pierre, SD, Jeffery Beckner, Little Rock, AR, Mary Anna Beckner, Glenwood, IA and Daniel Beckner, Omaha, NE. Jimmie died in 1981. Joyce was married to Lee Ellison in 1982 and he passed away in 1985.

Joyce moved to Fort Pierre, SD in 1988. She loved spending time with her family.

Joyce is survived by her children: Darcy (Mike) McClelland, Fort Pierre, SD, Jeffery Beckner, Little Rock, AR, Mary Anna Beckner, Glenwood, IA and Daniel (Kim) Beckner, Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Jimmie (Pam) McClelland, Pierre, SD, Tammy McClelland, Fort Pierre, SD, Michael Marie (Jason) Roggow, Fort Pierre, SD, Steven McClelland, Fort Pierre, SD, Ryan (Jamie) Beckner, Little Rock, AR and Holly Beckner, Little Rock, AR; great grandchildren: Carson McCllelland, Cooper Stertz, Hayden Roggow all of Pierre/Fort Pierre, SD and Raylynn Beckner, Little Rock, AR. She is also survived by her siblings: Darleen Pond, Gladys Harris, Carroll (Toni) Allmon, Allen Allmon and Michael Allmon all of Council Bluffs, IA and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husbands Jim Beckner and Lee Ellison and special friend Don Edwards, her parents, and brothers John H. Allmon and Marvin D. Allmon.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home of Council Bluffs and Feigum Funeral Home of Pierre, SD.
