Alan Ray Donta, 53, of Oldtown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2012, in King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
He was born August 26, 1959, in Ashland, a son of the late Ray Arnett and Bonnie Bullion Donta.
He was a self-employed body man and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Judy Powell, and a brother, Mike Dickens.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Lee Warren Virgin Donta, three step-sons, Joe Virgin and his wife, Sissy, of Oldtown, David Virgin and his wife, Sandy, of Oldtown and Dale Virgin of Lexington, a step-daughter, Amy Williams of Grayson, a brother, Carl Joseph "Joe" Donta (Monica) of Catlettsburg, a sister, Rita Steele and her husband, Trent, of Summit, seven grandchildren, Emily Virgin, Nathan Virgin, Ariel Virgin, David Virgin, Cody Williams, Blake Williams and Ralph Elliot Virgin, and a step-great-grandchild, Maykala Virgin.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2012, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup, by Brother David Shannon. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East in Greenup County.
