Memorial service for Evelyn Sue Johnson, 68, Ada, is 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at Smith-Phillips Funeral Home in Ada. Officiating is the Rev. Danny Deskin. Mrs. Johnson died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born Feb. 8, 1944, in Ada to Perry Harrison Allen and Ruby Ruth Fennell Allen. She married Harvie Johnson on July 23, 1963 in Atoka. Mrs. Johnson graduated from Latta High School. She worked for O.K. Cementing Company for 55 years. She was a life long resident of Ada and started helping with Cub Scouts in 1972. She served three times on the Roundtable for Cub Scouts and three times as den leader and also served as Webloe leader. Later she was a coach trainer for the Boy Scouts. All together she worked in Scouting for 35 years. She also was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and studied reflexology. Survivors include her husband, Harvie Johnson of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harrison A. and Michelle Johnson, Midwest City, and Jack A. Johnson, Tulsa; her mother, Ruby Ruth Allen, Ada; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Katie and Gene Reeves, Ada, and Kathy Allen, Ada; and many nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her father, Harrison Allen; and many uncles and aunts. Smith-Phillips Funeral Home, Ada.
