Captain Thomas Ashworth Brunson, Jr., of James Island, SC, entered into eternal slumber October 18, 2012.

Tom was born October 7, 1955 in Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Thomas Ashworth Brunson Sr.and Norma Faye Toler Brunson.

He attended Moultrie High School and James Island Baptist Church.

Tom was a shrimp boat captain, 100 Ton Master USCG licensed, HAZMAT & HAZWOPER certified, and licensed in SC and NC as a driller of environmental and water wells. He also held a commercial driver's license.

He is survived by his mother, Norma Faye Toler Brunson of Mt. Pleasant, SC; sisters, Angela N. Brunson, and Elaine B. Bucholtz and husband Bob of Mt. Pleasant; his brother, David T. Brunson, of Mt. Pleasant; two uncles and four aunts; his beloved three nieces, four nephews, three great-nieces and two great nephews, and many special friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Bonny Brunson Clyde.

The relatives and friends of Tom Brunson are invited to attend his funeral service, October 23, 2012 in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens.
