The first son of Earl E. and Mary Elizabeth (Aubrey) King was born during the years that his parents were living in Murray Co., OK. He was only 21 when his mother died at the age of forty. Jack spent much of his life in and around Oklahoma City. His obituary follows:

"Jack Edward King was born February 18, 1922 at Sulphur, Oklahoma. He departed this life on November 17, 1953, at Oklahoma City at the age of 31 years and nine months. He is survived by his father, Earl King of Levelland, Texas; one brother Kenneth King of Borger, Texas; one half brother, Earl Ricky King of Levelland, Texas; one nephew Charley King, of Borger, Texas; his grandmother Mrs. C. B. Aubrey of Durham, seven aunts, three uncles and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, one sister and brother and grandfather, C.B. Aubrey.

"Jack was baptized into the Lord's Church when he was a young boy and has been a member of the congregation here at Durham, although he has been in Oklahoma City the past few weeks and had been attending services there.

"Services from Durham Church of Christ Thursday 2:30 p.m. Ernest Sanderson, Minister. Casketbearers Alston Riley, Leonard Hillman, Jim Brown, Robert Bachmann, Bruce Thomas, Wayne Davis. Final Resting Place Fairview Cemetery. Services by Scroggins Funeral Home."
