Eliza A. Garriott was born on March 4, 1852, in Jackson County, Indiana. She was the daughter of James M. and Nancy Betsey Densford Garriott.

Eliza A. Garriott and Thomas A. Orr were married on September 25, 1874, in Jackson County, Indiana. Thomas Orr died in 1878.

Eliza A. Orr (nee Garriott) and Peter E. House were married on December 17, 1879, in Jackson County, Indiana.

OBITUARY: Eliza House, wife of Peter House, died November 27 at 3 p.m. of consumption, age 49 years and 10 months. She leaves a husband and five children. Funeral was preached at the residence by Rev. D. M. Lett Saturday November 29 at 10 a.m. Internment in the cemetery here.

OBITUARY: Mrs. House, wife of Peter House, living west of town, died last Thursday, after an illness of lung trouble. She was a kind and loving mother and well respected by all who knew her. She leaves a husband, three daughters and two sons to mourn their loss. Short funeral services were held at the house, after which the remains were interred in the Crothersville cemetery.
