He was a former member of the Representative Town Committee and was a former leader and representative in the fifth district, Westport Republican Town Committee.
Helmuth taught bible studies in various places and served in various positions at the Church of the Apostles in Fairfield, CT. Helmuth was a very dedicated and loving husband and father, not only his own children, but other people's children.
Helmuth is survived by his wife, Lillian J. Waldmann Krause of Westport, a son, John W. Krause of Brewster, NY, a daughter Andrea Schreiber of Frankfurt, Germany. Three grandchildren, Mina E. Krause, John R. Krause and Katrin A. Schreiber also survive.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday October 22, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St Paul's Church, 471 Mansfield Avenue, Darien, CT with interment to follow in Lakeview Cemetery, New Canaan. The family will receive friends on Sunday October 21, 2012 from 3 to 7 PM at the Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, New Canaan, CT 06840.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Church of the Apostles, 38 Commerce Dr, 2nd Floor, Fairfield, CT 06825, in memory of Helmuth W. Krause.
