b. Vranov Dol, located north of Jastrabarsko, about 1.5 km west of Plesivica (This area is just west of Zagreb). Parents: Andrija & Aloyza (PACIC) Vukic. Note: Pauline's baptism papers at the Plesivica RC Church state that the father was Andrija Vukic, who was Aloyza's first husband who came to America and died there. However, Pauline's obituary stated her father was Ignatz Seperic. Pauline came to America with her mother under the name of Pauline Vukic. Arrived at NY December 22, 1911 on the S.S. Neckar. Husbands: 1) Mike Krancich d. 1928 after his hand was caught in a motor wheel press at work and developed lockjaw; 2) John Mestrovich (later named changed to Mestek) m. 12/2/1929 Lansing, who d. 1960; 3) Joseph Ozanich, Sr. m. 1965, he died 1980. He had children through a previous marriage. Pauline applied for U.S. citizenship at St. John's Michigan (Clinton County north of Lansing)on 12/7/1939 under the name of Pauline Mestrovich, and received U.S. citizenship June 8, 1942. Pauline worked at the REO Motor Car Co. in Lansing for many years until 1965. At the time of her death, Pauline was survived by numerous descendants. Note: Her tombstone states her name as "PAULINE MESTEK," which is the surname of her 2nd husband. He is buried next to her (right)in grave No. 3, while Pauline's mother is buried next to her (left) in grave No. 5.
