Donald Eugene Adams, 53, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2012, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Don was born September 22, 1959, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Roy D. and Pearl Irene (Hanson) Adams.

He graduated Chanute High School.

Don worked as a Security Officer, traveling many areas of the United States, insuring the safety of others.

He was a third degree black belt in martial arts, and had achieved world champion amateur status. Don was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman.

In addition to his father,and step mother, Virgina Adams, he is survived by his children; Donald Adams, of Chanute, KS, Dorinda Adams, of Chanute, KS, Jennifer Newberry, of St. Paul, KS, Melissa Burris and husband, Travis, of Chanute, KS, and Nicholas Adams, originally of Chanute, and now serving his country in the US Army; a sister, Royce Mueller, of Yates Center, KS; abrother, Kenneth Adams, of Chanute, KS; five grandchildren; and a host of friends.

Graveside services will be held Monday, October 22, 2012, at Urbana Cemetery, Urbana, Kansas.

The family encourages memorials in Don's name, to the American Legion Riders of Chanute, Kansas. These may be left with the funeral home. Penwell-Gabel - Johnson Chapel, Chanute, KS, is in charge of arrangements.
