ABLES, MR. MARVIN (TANK) --- age 71, of Rt. 2. East Dunn Street, Rockwood, passed away Monday evening, April 3, 1989 at the Baptist Hospital in Roane County. He was of the Baptist faith. Retired Laborer with TVA Kingston Steam Plant after 23 years of services. Member of Rockwood VFW and American Legion Post no. 50. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Hattie Ables, Rockwood; daughter, Mrs. Patricia Meadows, Atlanta, Ga.; son, Sgt. Michael Ables, Berlin, Germany; brothers, Mr. Allen (Boots) Ables, Rockwood, Mr. Carl Ables, Hammon, Mr. Kenneth Ables, Oliver Springs; sisters Mrs. Ada Newman, Mrs. Lee Thompson, both of Rockwood, Mrs. Bobbie Harvey, Valdosta, Ga.; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren. Graveside service and interment 2 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 1989 in Roane Memorial Gardens, with full Military Honors, Rev. Bill Stone officiating. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Evans Mortuary, Rockwood.
