Elden H. Walker
Elden Howard Walker, 90, of Highland Drive died at 11:37 p.m. Wednesday at Sunnyview Home.
Born Feb. 18, 1917, in Evans City, he was the son of Edwin Bennett and Sylvia Elinora McCandless Walker.
Mr. Walker was a self-employed trucker.
He attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mr. Walker was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II in New Guinea, Luzon and the Southern Philippines. He enjoyed baseball, fishing and hunting.
Mr. Walker is survived by four sons, Richard, Dennis, Terry and Bradley Walker; three daughters, Sandra Meier, Deborah Walker and Jyll Clouse; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ruth Oesterling Walker, whom he married March 3, 1943, and who died Feb. 14, 2003; a son, Douglas Walker; six brothers, and four sisters.
WALKER- Friends of Elden Howard Walker, who died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Community Alliance Church with the Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
