Albert Norman Gant, age 78, of Homewood, formerly of Lansing, IL passed away on September 2, 2004 at St. Margaret Mercy Healthcare Center in Hammond, IN.
Mr. Gant is survived by his wife Patricia Gant, nee Schmidt; his daughter: Rosemary (Les) Adams of Dahlgren, IL and his son: Russell (Sandy) Gant of Benton, IL; one step-daughter: Nancy (John) Van Drunen of Cedar Lake, IN and one step-son: Timothy Siegers; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Gant is also survived by one brother Robert Gant and one sister: Arletta Shadowen.
He was preceded in death by his brothers James and Jack Gant and by his sisters Ethel Cluck, Vernie Bowers, Edna Avery and Lee Ellis. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 3, 2004 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral service, Saturday, September 4, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. at the Smits, DeYoung-Vroegh Funeral Home, 649 E. 162nd St. (Rt 6/159th St.) South Holland, IL, with Pastor Ron Lineberg and Rev. Mel DeVries officiating. Interment, Evergreen Cemetery, Hobart, IN.
Mr. Gant was a retired mechanic from Inland Steel and Rest Haven South. He was a member of Riverside Community Church in Hammond, IN, and also a World War II Navy veteran.
