ANDERSON-Greenville, Tex., Sept. 10.-John Anderson died at 7:30 this morning at his home on South Stonewall street, after an illness of several months. He was born on the George Chandler farm, near Greenville, fifty-two years ago, and he resided in this city almost continuously since his birth. The most of the time for the past thirty years he was engaged in business. Some thirty years ago he was married to Miss Emma Robinson and to them have been born two children, Ira, who resides in Monroe, La., and Oscar of this city. For several years he had been a member of the Woodmen and held a number of offices in that order. He joined the Wesley Methodist Church in 1875 and remained a member of the church until his death. The deceased was a brother to Nat Anderson of Monroe, La., Mrs. Guest of Detroit and Mrs. Bross of Commerce. He was a brother to County Auditor J. Harvey Anderson, who died at his home in this city on the 20th of last month. The funeral services were held at 4 o’clock this afternoon in Wesley Church, being conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. H. Casey. The Woodmen conducted the services at the grave and burial took place in East Mount Cemetery.
