He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Thelma Baudoin Bertrand, Baton Rouge; two sons, Billie Bertrand, California, and Bruce Bertrand, Baton Rouge; three grandchildren, Amanda, Amie Lee and Brian Bertrand; great-grandson, J.J.; sister, Joyce Bertrand Lancon, New Iberia; and two brothers, Herbert and Lester Bertrand, both of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthemond Bertrand; mother, Loda Marie Boutte Bertand Garzotta; stepfather, Joe Garzotta; sister, Annabelle Bertrand Viator; and nephew, Artie Bertrand.
He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Fleet Reserve Association.
