He was 5Œ 4.50 tall, dark complexion, brown eyes, and black hair. Born Oct. 1837, in OH, employed as a carpenter, single, resident of LaGrange, in LaGrange Co., IN. Mustered out after serving 3 years Nov. 23, 1864 in Chattanooga, TN with rank of Sergeant. Notes: In Hospital #3 in New Albany, IN, Jul. 1, 1862, for affected kidneys. Appointed 1st Sergeant Nov. 14, 1862. Mustered out on expiration of term of service. Married Sarah Emma Prough 1866 in LaGrange Co., IN. He filed Invalid Pension Application to receive Pension Certificate #941962 Jan. 21, 1887. Resident of LaGrange 1880; of Allen Co., IN in 1892-1910; of Garrett 1914. Pastor in Pleasant Hill Church of Brethren 25 years beginning 1876. Died Jan. 25, 1918, in Cedar Creek, IN; buried Embrey Cemetery, Row 6, DeKalb Co., IN where birth year is given as 1836.
