Exie P. Blakeman, 97, of Green County, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004 at Citizens Nursing Home in Frederick, Md. Daughter of the late Thomas F. Perkins and Helen F. Hudson Perkins, she was born on March 9, 1907. She was a former school teacher in the Green County School System and a glassware dealer. She was married to Thomas Lyman Blakeman on July 31, 1932. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1987. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Sandra Blakeman of Walkersville, Md.; three grandchildren, Katheryn Blakeman, Seth Blakeman and Scott Blakeman; four great-grandchildren; and close friends, Ed and Thelda Bailey of Colorado Springs, Col. and Sterling Shulls of Hugo, Col. Blakeman was also preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Blanche Garrison and Alvia Grace Clark; and two brothers, Chester Leon Perkins and Walter Heizer Perkins. Funeral was at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 19 at Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home in Greensburg. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery. The Rev. Freddy Thompson officiated. Pallbearers were Feron Blakeman, Bobby G. Blakeman, Leo Wright, Capt. Seth Blakeman, Scott Blakeman and Walter Blackman. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity and can be made at the funeral home.
