DARLENE DELMA CARLSON died July 31, 2007 at Presbyterian Manor, Clay Center, KS at the age of 80. Darlene Delma Carlson was born on August 21, 1926 in Clay County Kansas, the daughter of Roy Sutter and Mattie Davidson.

Darlene taught two years at a rural school. She and Marshall exchanged letters for three years during WWII. They were married on February 3, 1946. The couple lived in rural Longford and rural Clay Center before moving to Clay Center in 1957. Darlene worked as a checker for Boogart's Grocery for more than thirty years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Alla Sera, and the Northwest Club. She was preceded in death by her son, Melvin; a granddaughter; three brothers; and three sisters.

Husband: Marshall Carlson, Clay Center, KS
Daughter: Marsha Sue and husband, Jim Davies, Wichita, KS
Daughter In-Law: Glennis Carlson, Wichita, KS
Sister: Alta Arnett, Clay Center, KS
Granddaughter: T'Sharra Carlson , Lee's Summit, MO
Granddaughter: Carrie Carlson , Lenexa, KS
Great Grandson: Aric Murillo, Lee's Summit, MO

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas.
Officiating the service will be Pastor Glenn Tombaugh.
Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center, KS.
Visitation will be held on 3-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Clay Center Center United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
