Millard Gollehon Killed In Omaha Traffic Accident This Week

Millard Gollehon, 48 year-old former Washington Countian and veteran Union Pacific employee, died Tuesday in an Omaha hospital because of injuries received four days previously when he was struck by an automobile in Omaha.

The accident occurred Friday as Gollehon was boarding a street car at 10th and Mason Streets in Omaha. He was enroute home from work at the time.

Gollehon believed that he was not badly hurt following the accident; but, at the insistence of the motorist whose car struck him, he was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital. He died when a blood clot caused by a broken pelvis reached his brain.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Kremer Funeral Home in Benson, burial to follow at Blair Cemetery.

Charles Millard Gollehon married Tillie Christensen of Blair Febr. 27, 1925, at Papillion. For a number of years they had lived at 4601 Cuming St. in Omaha.

Surviving besides his wife are four children, Charles Millard Gollehon, Jr., Eugene Gollehon, Mrs. Mark Hofeldt (Louise) and Miss Lucille Gollehon, all of Omaha. There are two grandchildren, Carol and Pamela Hofeldt.

Other survivors are his father, Marvin Gollehon, Sr., of Fremont; his mother, Mrs. Bertha Gollehon of Lincoln; five brothers, Robert of Billings, Mont., Clark of Ephrata, Wash., Marvin of Lubbock, Tex., Eugene of Minneapolis and Walter of Lincoln; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Decker (Ruth) of Omaha, and Mrs. Grace Gaines of Lincoln.
