John W. Dutton, 69, a resident of this valley the past nine years, passed away this morning at a local convalescent home.
Mr. Dutton was born in Plano, Iowa, April 30, 1872, and he spent his childhood in that state. He came to Colorado in 1912 and for a number of years farmed on the eastern slope. He had resided in western Colorado since 1925. His home here was at 131 White Avenue.
Mrs. Dutton, whose maiden name was Myrtle Gibson, preceded her husband in death in 1924.
Survivors include a son, Irvin E. Dutton of Orchard Mesa, a daughter, Mrs. James Peck of Rapid City, S. D. and a brother, A. L. Dutton of Pueblo. There are four grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in Orchard Mesa cemetery, with Rev. Lyle Prescott of the Nazarene church officiating. The Gardner-Kinsey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
