LOGAN – Joseph Owen Dunn, 79, resident of Logan since 1934, died Saturday at six a.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Emma D. Eliason, 376 Washington, Ogden.

Mr. Dunn was born December 16, 1867, at Bountiful, a son of Joseph Moroni and Susannah White Dunn.  He moved to Tooele with his parents when he was a small child and was educated there.

He married Mary Ann Craner on September 24, 1890, in the L.D.S. Logan temple.  The family lived in Tooele where Mr. Dunn was a farmer.  The family moved to Corinne in 1911, where Mr. Dunn operated another farm for a number of years before coming to Logan.

He was an active member of the L.D.S. church and had been doing temple work in Logan.  He served in the L.D.S. Corinne ward bishopric for 10 years and was a high priest at time of his death.

Mrs. Dunn died six months ago.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters: Mrs. Eliason and Amos D. Bevan, Ogden; Mrs. Gertrude D. Hewitt and J. Edgar and Seth Dunn, Twin Falls, Idaho; Emil C. Dunn, Logan; Mrs. Sadie B. Jensen, Brigham City and Mrs. Leona D. Doty, Hollywood, Calif.; also 36 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Ann Anderson and Mrs. Edith Richards, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Effie Lindberg and Mrs. Addie Vowels, Tooele, and Llewellyn C. Dunn, Provo.

The body is at the Harold B. Felt funeral home in Brigham City.
