Clark's Hill, Ind, May 6 – William Welch died at his home here April 30 from a complication of diseases. He was born in Montgomery county forty-nine years ago and came here with his parents thirty-years ago. He had charge of the local telephone exchange for the past twenty-five years. As a public servant, Mr Welch had few equals and his faithfulness to duty made a legion of friends. In 1905 he was united in marriage to Miss Lulu Claypool, daughter of Dr and Mrs J S Claypool of Pine village. To this union two children were born. Miss Ethel Welch and Barnard Allen Welch at home, who with the mother survive. Also one brother John Welch of Colfax and one sister, Mrs Arthur Parks of Indianapolis.
