A native of Caldwell County he was born September 6, 1921, a son of the late Luther J and Willie Carl Hobby. He was a World War II veteran and the owner and operator of Hobby Insulation Company.
Survivors include his wife, the former Jane Glass; three sons, a daughter, nine grandchildren; two brothers and a sister.
