AGED RESIDENT OF QUINNESEC IS SUMMONED

Mrs. Thomas E. Holmes, 73, a resident of the Upper Peninsula since 1880, died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. S. Butler, 1123 South Stephenson Avenue, Iron Mountain.

Death was caused from the effects of a paralytic stroke she suffered 6 weeks ago. Born in New York,

she moved with her parents to Mitchell, Sheboygan, Wis. & lived there until 22, when she was married.

She & her husband came to the Upper Peninsula & finally settled in Quinnesec, where she resided for the last 35 years. Mr. & Mrs. Holmes celebrated their 52nd anniversary last February. She is survived

by her husband, 4 daughters, Mrs. Butler, Mrs. Charles Summers, Mrs. Charles Peck, Mrs. Vance Cagly;

2 sons, William & Raymond; and a brother, Aden Brown.
