Thomas E. Holmes, 76, a resident of the district for more than 38 years, died at midnight last night

at the General Hospital, from the effects of a paralytic stroke he suffered a week ago. Death was

not unexpected.

When he was a small boy he moved with his parents to a small town in southern Wisconsin, where

he received his education, high school & college, then taught school for 12 years.

Mr. Holmes is survived by 3 daughters: Mrs. J.S. Butler, 1123 South Stephenson Avenue, Iron Mountain; Mrs. Charles Sommers, Neenah, Wis. & Mrs. Charles Peck, Bisbee, Arizona; 2 sons: R.A. Holmes, Marion, Indiana & W.J. Holmes, Marinette, Wis.

His wife died last December. He lived in Quinnesec for 38 years & moved to Iron Mountain to live with

his daughter when his wife died. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
