Adela was born in Colonias, New Mexico, on October 23, 1916.
Adela was preceded in death by her husband, Max Sisneros, her parents, Cleofitas and Fidel Gallegos, sisters, Amelia Maestas, Ernestina Ulibarrí and Josephina Ulibarrí, brother, Bernabe Gallegos, grandson, Mark Sisneros and great-granddaughter, Esperanza Ciesielski-Torres. Adela is survived by brothers, Fidel Gallegos and Teodoro Gallegos, sisters, Portana Baca and Cleo Luna, sons, Benny Sisneros, Vidal Sisneros and Max Sisneros, and daughters, Christine Sedillo, Enedina Sánchez, Bette Jo Ciesielski, Trinnie Lambert and her caregivers, daughter, Angela Rose, son-in-law, Leonard and grandchildren, Adam and Andrea. Adela is also survived by her children's spouses, 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Adela was a home maker always welcoming guests with a hearty meal. Adela enjoyed arts and crafts, horseback riding, quilting, embroidery, designing and sewing clothing for her family. Adela helped her husband with the ranch, chopping wood, canning fruits and vegetables, making ristras and gardening.
Adela enjoyed singing with Max, who played the guitar. Adela was devoted to praying her novenas, since her teens collected letismas for the Lady of Mt. Carmel Society. Adela also served as mayordoma and held fundraising rodeos to renovate the San José Catholic Church and taught Sunday school.
Adela will be honored with a Rosary at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Albuquerque, NM on Thursday, October 18. at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, October 19, 2012 a Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church in Santa Rosa, NM. Mass with interment to follow will be held October 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at San José Catholic Church in Colonias, New Mexico. Family and friends are invited to join the family for reception following interment in Colonias.
