John Eli Church, Sr. 88, of Jerusalem died Wednesday, (Nov. 6, 1980).
He was a native of Hector, son of Francis Marion Church and Sarah Fanny Crouch Church. He was a retired farmer and cattleman and a member of Free Will Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Ann Church; six sons, Dolan Church, Elva Church, Odell Church, J. E. Church Jr., and Dale Church, all of Jerusalem, and Coleman Church of Bensenville, IL; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Andersen of Northlake, IL, and Mrs. Nell Stroud of Appleton; two brothers, Jess Church of Russellville and Loyd Church of Petaluma, CA; one sister, Mrs. Lovice Curry of Stockton, CA; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday morning at the Jerusalem Free Will Baptist Chuch by Rev. A.E. Coffman. Burial was in Forks of the Creek Cemetery near Hector by the Harris Funeral Home.
