Thomas was born in Muldoon, Texas on May 23, 1926, the son of the late Tom and Eva Mae "Doll" (Brown) Davis. He married Helen Marie Vaughn on January 10, 1947 in Houston, Texas.
Thomas served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy for 28 years. He was a combat veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, including the battle for Iwo Jima.
He is survived by three daughters: Donna Vickery of Winfield, Alabama, Pamela Powell and husband, Jimmy, of La Grange, and Karen Koopmann and husband, Martin, of Austin; sister, Virginia Evelyn (Jake) Howell of Houston; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 52 years, Helen; and sister, Mary Edna Ruscher.
