Daughter of Richard Lane and Susanna Blunt Lane.
Married (1) Shelton Morton McClain, 21 Aug. 1879. One son, Shelton, Jr. Shelton Sr. moved to Montana, married a second wife and had two children born in Montana, and died there.
Married (2) William P. McAuliff.

Belle was owner and operator of the Greystone Hotel in Tonopah, Nevada. She is shown in records to have been there as early as 1903. In a huge fire in October 1942 that started at the Extension mill and destroyed about three blocks of buildings, the hotel burned to the ground.
Tonopah was a Silver mining boom town. Her husband William was a miner. Her son Sheldon also lived his life in Tonopah.
