A well-known Jesuit Priest, he was a friend of F. Scott Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald's book "Benediction" relates in part to Thomas' life as a priest. They met when Thomas' sister Cecelia introduced them while he was involved in his Jesuit studies in Baltimore, Maryland.
