Coldwater Daily Reporter - Wednesday, May 3, 1995 - Merrick E. Evans, 90, of Coldwater, dies on Monday, May 1, 1995 at the Carriage Inn Convalescent Center in Coldwater. No public service or visitation is scheduled. Burial will take place in the lindenwood Cemetery in Ft. Wayne, Ind. Arrangements are by Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater.

He was born on March 2, 1905, in Detroit, the son of Ulrich A. Evnas (sic) and Mattie Blanche Eversole. The family moved to Ft. Wayne, Ind., while Merrick was a youth. He attended high school in Ft. Wayne and then moved to Chicago, where we was a security guard for Marshall Field & Company. He returned to Ft. Wayne and operated the family machine shop. Following the death of his wife, Doris, in 1975, he sold the business and moved to Coldwater to live with his brother, Charles. He is survived by a nephew in California. (He had no children)
