By 1834, they were living in the Kent County, Michigan area with his brother Ezra and their families. Lewis and Ezra bought land on the west side of Reeds Lake in 1835 in what is now East Grand Rapids. The lake was named for them.
Hannah and Lewis had the following children
Sophia Amelia 1823-1863
Osmund 1824-1895
Aurelia 1826-1829
Rosella L 1828-1851
Joshua R 1829-1844
Elizabeth 1832-1904
William Wirt 1834-1855
Catherine Marie 1835-1927 (said to be first European child born near Reeds Lake)
Julia Matilda 1838-1915
Violetta Letecia 1841-1894
There was no longer a headstone on the grave when I first visited, but Robert Worden found it buried and took the photo provided. He is not a relative, but does this wonderful volunteer work of finding lost grave markers. As Hannah's descendant I am very appreciative.
