Adeline Marie Flaig was born in Clements, Minnesota on May 29, 1909, the daughter of Francis and Margaret (Stitz) Berberich. She attended 12 years of schooling at the St. Raphael Catholic School and graduated from there in 1929. She began a local job doing bookkeeping.

On October 21, 1930, Adeline was united in marriage to Darrel V. Flaig. The couple moved to Alexandria at that time and made it their home for their entire married lives. The couple raised seven children in Alexandria.

Adeline assisted her husband in his work at the Anderson Funeral Home. She served as the Hostess for many families during their time of bereavement. Adeline and her husband both retired in 1980.

Adeline spent a life rich with family. She fondly loved all seven of her children and their spouses, her 35 grandchildren and 61 great grandchildren. She never missed a birthday card to them over the years and was remarkable in keeping their lives foremost in hers. Adeline was also very active in the Church of St. Mary over the years.

Also surviving are 34 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren.
