Peter H. Wang was born on the James Shager homestead on the 24 day of May 1858. Sometime afterward he moved onto the farm where he lived until his death on Dec. 13, 1917, at the age of 59 yrs., 6 months and 19 days.
He had been ailing for some time, but no one expected that the silent boatman should so unexpected and suddenly conveying him across a stormy Jordan into the heavenly Canaan. He died in the faith of the Lord Jesus on whom he had believed and trusted with his whole heart.
On the 2nd of February 1882 he was united in marriage to Anna E. Dalen. To this union 12 children were born. On the 19th day of February 1913, his wife preceded him to the great beyond, also one son, Elmer and two daughters, Clara and Julia, preceded him. He leaves to mourn his death six sons and three daughters, Harry E. of Wiota, Charles A. of Augusta, Amelia K. of Oak Park, Ill., George T. of Monroe, Parks A.J. Mabel, Allan M., Clara D., at home and Walter L. who sis a senior at St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minn; also, one sister, Mrs. Anna Daehlin, also seven grandchildren.
"His trials and his griefs are past," a blessed end is his at last; he bore Christ's yoke, and did his will, and though he died, he liveth still.
