Jesse R. "Tommy" Baker passed away February 20, 2009 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Mo. He lived his entire life in Callaway County. He was born May 18, 1922 to the late Cornelias and Mary Elizabeth (Nichols) Baker. Jesse married Mary Rankin Fletcher on December 5, 1953 in Callaway County.

He served in World Wae II and was retired from Harbison Walker. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

His wife, Ranky survives him at home. He is also survived by two sons, Dewayne Baker and Bobby Baker both of Fulton, one daughter, Carol Baker of Fulton. four granddaughters, eight great granddaughters and one great great grandchild. all of fulton. He was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Michael Baker and Steven McKinny Jr. and one granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Baker.

Funeral services will be 1p.m. on Tuesday February 24, 2009 at Maupin Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Lockhart officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8p.m. on Monday February 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens.
