Larry E. Thompson, 80, resident of 102 Stafford Drive, husband of Molly Anne Price Thompson, died October 12, 2012 at Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home in Anderson. Born in Princeton NC, October 3, 1932, he was a son of the late Sidney F. and Ila Braswell Thompson. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Thompson formerly owned and operated the Greenwood Ready Mix Concrete Co. and Thompson Contracting Co. A past president and lifetime member of the St. Andrews Jaycees of Columbia, Mr. Thompson was also a member and past president of the Greenwood Civitan Club, past president of the Carolinas Ready Mix Concrete Association and past board member of the National Ready Mix Concrete Association. Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are two sons, Stephen (Jennifer) Thompson of Augusta and Sidney (Paula) Thompson of Greenwood; one daughter, Tracy Thompson of Greenwood; one brother, Linwood (Lola) Thompson of North Carolina; along with seven grandsons, four granddaughters, one great-granddaughter and five great-grandsons. Entombment will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Blyth Funeral Home.
