Aliff E. Jowers, 81, born February 23, 1920 in Alma, GA., passed away May 1, 2001 in Jacksonville, FL where she had resided since 1955. She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, 1106 N. Liberty St., where funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, May 4, 2001, with Rev. Frank J. Pintello, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Survivors include her son, Carl Jowers of Jacksonville; three daughters, Glenda Mann (Bill) of Jacksonville, Cheryl Cheri Price (Fred) of St. Augustine, and Barbara Gaona (David) of St. Augustine; brother, Bennie Holton; four sisters, Veda Penfield, Mae Powers, Teresa Cotton, and Virgie Holton; eight grandchildren, Bryant, Marie, Earl, Jed, Tammy, Jessica, Davey, and Benji; 6 great-grandchildren, Peggy, Johnny, Beth, Carrie, Will, and Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 68 PM, Thursday at HARDAGE GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 4315 Main St.
