"This family can be found in Stjørdalsboka, the "bygdebok" for this area.
The name Hove can also be spelled Håve or Haave.Your family lived at
Håveneset (also called Håvefallet). This was a "husmannsplass" (cotters
place) under the farm "Vestre Håve".
I quote and translate from Stjørdalsboka:
Torstein Olsen Håveneset, b. 17/6 1828. Emigrated to America.
m. 27/11 1854 to Dåret Henrikka Andreasdtr., b. 19/11 1832. Daughter
of Andreas Hansen and
Ingeborg Iversdtr. Mobergene at "Ytre Resve”.
Children:
Berit, b. 13/7 1852.
Oluf, b. 21/10 1854.
Anne Marta, b. 13/4 1864.
Anne Martine, b. 23/7 1871.
Andreas, b. 11/8 1867.
Torstein, b. 2/1 1879.
In a list of emigrants from Stjørdal, 1867-75 I found:
Olve Torstensen Haavenæs, age 21, emigrated 1874.
Even if the name is spelled differently, I believe this is your
grandfather. It could mean Olaf emigrated first and the rest of the
family followed later (after 1875)."

Oluf Hove's parents emigrated in Sept. 1880 from Nedre Stjørdal, Nord-Trøndelag, Norway. They arrived in Boston with their three youngest children on Oct. 3, 1880, but were continuing on to Minneapolis, where their tickets were pre-paid.
