When Amos Bigelow died unexpectedly at the age of 34, his daughters (Sally, Lucy and Faith) had not yet reached 14 years of age and Isaac Lamson was appointed their guardian. Amos Bigelow jr, being over 14 years, chose Isaac Lamson as his guardian so the children stayed together--at least until Isaac died in 1807.
