Estella Elizabeth "Susie" Hedger was born north of the Virginia community in Charlotte township, Bates County, Missouri. She married Douglas Browning. Sue and Doug had two sons, Richard and John. The family made their home in Butler, Missouri. Sue was a dedicated member of the Assembly of God church.

Sue passed away on 09 Aug 1981 at the Bates County Memorial Hospital, Butler, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug.
