John B. Thompson, 70 years old, a retired lumber dealer, died from heart disease Monday on the Pennsylvania railroad ferryboat while going from Manhattan to Bayonne. Mr. Thompson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Maffet of Bayonne, Mrs. H.R. Rose of Massey, Ont., and Mrs. U.J. Mathot of Falls Creek, Pa. Mr. Thompson amassed a fortune in the lumber business at Brookville, Pa., where the body will be interred. He returned last Thursday from Ontario, where he had been camping all summer.
