BURLINGTON - Cindy Lu Barrows-Key, 46, of Burlington passed away on Tuesday morning, October 9, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Cindy was a lifelong Burlington resident, born September 9, 1966, to Joan & Stanley Barrows.

Cindy was preceded in death by her older brothers, Peter and Gary Barrows.

She was loved by all of her many aunts, uncles, cousins and their families. I would also like to extend a special thank you to Manu Soultanakis and Kim Spena, who helped Cindy when she needed it. She was an Angel to everyone who knew her. -She was a 1984 graduate of Burlington high School and a 1989 graduate of the University of Vermont. -She was a BRIGHT LIGHT... loving friend/ wife to Bruce Key. -She had a competitive spirit/Iron Dog, Road races, Agility etc. -She competed and finshed in this year's Green Mtn. Iron Dog, less than a month ago. -Longtime member and teammate of Milton Veterinary Hospital, the veterinary community & avid animal lover. -Also known as Honey Badger, Cindy-Lu-Who, Aunt "Indy." -Loved to travel & explore. -Loved her Family and Friends. -Loved gardening & her flowers... even though her dogs ate most of her zucchini & tomatoes =). -The light and love that came from her was unparalleled. -Always putting others first. -She loved the holidays & celebrations. -She could talk to anyone & make them feel at ease. -She was a loving mother to Kyle & Kory and his wife, Page. -She was a loving grandmother to Lily Key. -She was a loving aunt to Nicole & little Addie. -Always carried the load... even through her illness... always making sure everyone else was happy & cared for. -She was of exceptional character and believed in doing the right thing - she was "THE ROCK."
