Agnes Sigrun Amberson, 76, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at her home, surrounded by her loving family, following a long battle with cancer. She was born in Elfros, Saskatchewan on October 24, 1931 to Arni and Elizabeth (Nupdal) Horgdal.
Agnes graduated from Blaine High School in 1950. She graduated from Everett Junior College and General Hospital of Everett School of Nursing in 1953. Agnes worked as a registered nurse for 35 years at General Hospital of Everett. Her dedication to the nursing profession was evident in her caring attitude and sensitivity to her patients' needs. Lifelong friendships were formed throughout, and after her nursing career, with the many nurses Agnes knew.
Agnes was known for her love of gardening and landscaping. She was a highly skilled knitter, enjoyed reading, traveling and most of all, valued time spent with her family members. Her words of wisdom, helping hands, listening ears and kind-hearted, respectful nature was greatly appreciated and will be deeply missed.
Agnes is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Robert; son, Carl (Margret); daughter, Connie (Larry) Uhl; son, Craig (Tanya); daughter, Colleen (Kevin) Jefferson; daughter, Corene (Larry) Anderson; sister, Elsie (Carl) Jussel; nephew and godson, Joel Jussel; grandchildren, Joshua, Jonathon, Julia, Joseph, Norton and Annah.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 10:30 a.m., March 15, 2008, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church at Swan's Trail, 5511 64th Street, SE, Snohomish, WA, 98290.
