Vidalia, GA - Mr. James Quinton Ansley, age 83 of Vidalia, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Candler Hospital in Savannah after a brief illness. He was a native of Toombs County, and lived in Ocala and Live Oak, Florida for many years before returning home to Vidalia in 1997. He was a salesman most of his life with awards of merit and recognition from the John Deere Tractor Company and the Ford Motor Company. He was a member of Inman Creek Masonic Lodge # 491 in Johnson's Corner and a 32nd Degree Mason where he was also a member of the Valley of Ocala Scottish Rite. He was a former Deacon and a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Cumbee Ansley; a daughter, Mary Lawannah Ansley; and parents, Joseph and Attis Morris Ansley.

Mr. Ansley is survived by his former wife, Mattie Lou Ansley of Vidalia; one daughter, Patricia Anne Ansley of Charleston, West Virginia; three granddaughters, Julie Sharpe and husband Sean of Lyons, Jennifer Williamson and husband Derrick of Cuyahoga Fall, Ohio, and Francesca Alaina Burcham and husband Mike of Lyons; eight great-grandchildren, Bayleigh, Duston, Blane, Michael, Christopher, kassidy, Madilyn, and Ayden; and one great-great-grandchild, Brantley.

The funeral service will be held Friday, October 12th at 2:00 pm in the Rocky Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Reece Mincey officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
