Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Johnston Funeral Home in Ina, with the Rev. Dale Burzynski officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Whittington. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

John H. Border, age 63, of Benton died at 8 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2007, in Helia Healthcare of Benton, with his daughters by his side. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, in Johnston Funeral Home in Ina with the Rev. Dale Burzynski officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Whittington. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. John was born November 22, 1943, in Pacific Grove, California, the son of Eugene and Gladys (Book) Border. He married Jayne (Patton) on July 24, 1992, and she preceded him in death on July 8, 2005. John worked for Ashland Oil for several years. He was a member of the Ina Baptist Church. He was an avid bird hunter, loved going to auctions, and visiting at the coffee shop. He is survived by two daughters, Cathy Terry and husband, Chris, of Thompsonville, and Connie Johnson of Benton; six grandchildren, Seth Terry, Nick Terry, Calli Terry, Connor Terry, Trevor Johnson and Reece Johnson; special friends, Charlotte Polinski and Larry Tate; and many other dear friends. Mr. Border was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Gladys Border, and his wife, Jayne Border.
