Funeral Notice

Mrs. Ed Buck

Mrs. Ed Buck passed away yesterday (Wednesday) about noon at her home near Bandera. Funeral services are to be held this afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Plummer Funeral Home.

She was born in Bandera on March 15, 1866. She was Miss Kate Ross before her marriage on May 6, 1897 to Eb Buck, who died last February.

A More extended write-up will be given next week.

Funeral Rites Thursday For Mrs. Eb Buck

Funeral services were held on Thursday at 3 p.m. for Mrs. Eb Buck who passed away at her home on Wednesday. Rev. E. C. Ray officiated at the Plummer Funeral Home and at the grave. Interment was in the Bandera Cemetery. Pall bearers were W. H. ______, W. R. Fletcher, D. E. Conwill, W. A. Meadows, F. M. Montague and Ben Pyka. The many ____ flowers gave mute testimony of the high esteem in which she was held.

Mrs. Buck, nee Kate Ross, was born in Bandera on March 15, 1866, a daughter of Judge and Mrs. Edward M. Ross. Judge Ross was one of the pioneer school teachers of San Antonio, living there in the early 50's. He was a veteran of the Mexican War and later enlisted again and was stationed at Camp Verde. He located here, establishing a ranch and raised sheep, cattle and horses. He served as county judge of Bandera County for several terms. He died in 1909 at the age of 90 years. His wife died in 1899. On May 6, 1897 the deceased was married to Eb Buck and he preceded her in death last February 17. The deceased has been in poor health for the past 8 or 10 years and had been practically an invalid.

Those left to mourn the passing of this good Christian woman include her sister, Mrs. Mary Perner of Ozona, a brother, J. B. Ross of San Antonio and a host of other relatives.

The New Era extends profound sympathy.
