Allen Rogers
Allen Rogers was born in Millerville Township on May 24, 1912, the son of William and Carrie (Hanson) Rogers. When he was two years old he came with his parents to Nelson, Minnesota. He attended the Nelson School and graduated from the Alexandria high school and also attended Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis. He was a member of the Danish Church and later Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Nelson, Minnesota.
Allen was Post Master at Nelson, Minnesota from 1948 until 1974 when he retired.
He passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota on October 22, 1975 at the age of 63 years.
Surviving aer his wife: Eleanor; one son and two daughters: Gregory Rogers of Minneapolis; Karen (Mrs. Gary Vargason) of St. Cloud and Rosalyn (Mrs. Jerry Fritz) of St. Cloud.
Also surviving are six grandchildren: Steve and Michael Rogers; Eve, Tara, and Hallie Vargason, and Tommy Fritz; three brothers and four sisters: Clarence Rogers of Santa Barbara, California; Alma Rogers of Nelson, Minnesota; Mrs. Mildred Carey of Santa Barbara, California; Mrs. Ruby Truemer of McGrath, Minnesota, Mrs. Ruth Qually of Santa Barbara, California, Walter Rogers of Buellton, California; and Albert Rogers of Santa Barbara, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son David, and three sisters.
Funeral services were Friday, October 24, 1975, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Nelson, Minnesota. Rev. Paul Ranum officiating. Interment at Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, Minnseota.
