Cecil Clyde Rigsby, age 86, 2204 East Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, died Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998, in Lakebridge Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was a Washington County native and had lived in Johnson City since 1950. Mr. Rigsby was a son of the late Alex and Lola Mae Shipley Rigsby. He was a retired water department employee of the City of Johnson City and a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hardin Rigsby; six daughters: Linda English, Johnson City; Janie Chase, Johnson City; Judy Pippin, Smyrna; Joy McQueen, Newark, Del.; Lola Harmon; Mauldin, S.C.; and Rosie Turbyfield, Johnson City; one sister, Bonnie Mae Adams, Johnson City; several grandchildren, including Heather Rigsby, Johnson City; several great-grandchildren, including Haden Isaiah Oliver, Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews. Morris-Maker Funeral Home (282-1521), 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, is in charge of arrangements.
RIGSBY -- Funeral services for Cecil Clyde Rigsby, age 86, 2204 East Unaka Avenue, Johnson City, who died Thursday, were conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The Rev. Paul Crowe officiated. Burial will follow graveside services at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Monte Vista Burial Park.
