Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother Spencer Norris Preece, 77, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2012. He was born on October 17, 1934 in Afton, Wyoming to Norris G. and Edna Luella Wheeler Preece. Spencer grew up and attended schools in Cache Valley and later moved to Opal, Wyoming with a recent move to Ogden, Utah.

Spencer was a Southern Baptist and the Pastor and founder of the Opal Baptist Church.

He worked for the Northern Pacific Railroad, Western Union and retired as a plant operator for Utah Power and Light.

Spencer married Ann Harper on December 29, 2004 in Kemmerer, Wyoming.

He loved being on the ranch with his dog, Queenie by his side. Spencer enjoyed hunting and considered himself a Mountain Man. He loved his newest dogs, Queenie Too and Fluffy.

Spencer is survived by his loving wife, Ann; sons, Russell (Janet), Clearfield; and Gordon (Valynn) Roy; daughters, Wendy Preece, Ogden; Shannon Preece, California; Dawn Reinke, California; and Anna (James) Dunlap, Washington; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and brothers, Norman (Linda), Craig (Joey), Steven (Jane) and Roger (Gay).

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Vernon and Howard.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 1 p.m. at the Washington Heights Church, 1770 East 6200 South, Ogden. Arrangements entrusted to Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
